Botanic YOUTH LEADER

Join a team of passionate, committed youth leaders and make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk young people in the Roma community.

When? Wednesday night (weekly):

We are currently looking to bring in a number of volunteer leaders to support our Botanic youth programme from Spring 2019 to Spring 2020. Young people, aged 12 to 16, meet every Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at our Dreamscheme youth centre. Your role will be to build relationships with young people, support our youth workers (Emma and Stephen) in delivering activities and help motivate young people to participate.


MILLTOWN/BELVOIR YOUTH LEADER

Join a team of passionate, committed youth leaders and make a positive difference in the lives of at-risk young people in Belvoir and Milltown estates.

Current opportunities:

  1. Tuesday night programme:

    We are currently looking to bring in a number of volunteer leaders to support our Milltown/Belvoir Tuesday youth programme from Spring 2019 to Spring 2020. Young people, aged 12 to 18, meet every Tuesday evening from 6-10 pm at the Milltown Baptist Church halls. Your role will be to build relationships with young people, support our youth workers (Lizzie and David) in delivering activities and help motivate young people to participate.

  2. Summer programme

    We also need youth leaders who can commit to supporting young people during the first two weeks of July. During these two weeks, we will be taking young people away for an overnight residential, day-time trips, and will be engaging with young people at the local bonfire on multiple evenings.

Our priority is to recruit volunteers that can commit to one night each week, but welcome occasional volunteers too.

street team

Time commitment: 3 hours per evening (7-10pm) during the months of May to September.
Your role: With the Dreamscheme team, reach out and build relationships with young people on the streets around Castlereagh, South and East Belfast on Friday evenings.

 

Group youth leader

Time commitment: 3 hours per week (6.30-9.30pm on your preferred night) for at least one year.

Your role: Build relationships with young people in one of our weekly youth groups, and support our team in delivering activities and motivating young people to participate.

  2. Wednesday evening 6.30-9.30pm - Roma/Botanic group
